Happy Birthday Jim

Today is Jim's birthday. I had to make this post and dedicate it to him. Once in a while, in the the middle of an ordinary life, your prince comes along and you get to live a fairy tale. Jim is my prince and giving me a wonderful, happy fairy tale life. His love of life and positive outlook on things have blessed me in more ways than I could ever imagine. He has taught me patience, given me unconditional love, shared his passion for coaching and taught me the beauty of a perfectly thrown curve ball. He is my soul mate and the love of my life. Happy Birthday, BeBe.
The dealers in Las Vegas were actually nicer to me than Jim the Dealer on the plane. I was up $320 playing Black Jack Switch at Casino Royal. That is really good for me. See Jim doesn't gamble with me. Says I mess with his MOJO....whatever! So we are always gambling apart. That's ok I meet the nicest people that way. So I was thinking Jim is going to be so proud of me for holding my own, off by myself so I gathered my chips and headed back to Harrah's and....... This was Jim's winnings.....look closely at the the band on the bills and the stack and the amount.
Yes...Jim won 10 G's....a stack of 100's...$10,000....one hand...one bet...10 G's. He was playing Mississippi Stud and got 4 8's. That's four of a kind...that's 40 to 1 odds. Makes my winnings seem like piddley...He can say anything he wants about his MOJO and me messing with it. If he can do that I will never gamble with him again. I wanted to unwrap the money and throw it up in the air on the bed, get naked and roll in it but he wouldn't let me...wanted to keep the band in tact...whatever!

This is looking down into "Crystal" from about 7 floors up. It is shopping center between the Beligio and City Center. The architechture here is unbeliveable and this is a good example.
Chinese New Year. Chinese Lanterns everywhere. It is the year of the Tiger. This is a shot of laterns across the top of the lobby at Aria. It was arched and had hundreds of them hanging.

Monday night we went to see Jersey Boys. What a show. Jim says it's the best show/play he's ever seen. Now that's impressive. It's the story about Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons and I agree with Jim...it was good. The music was fantastic and the singers were unbelieveable. Great Cast. I would recommend it to anyone who is in Vegas. And it was at the Palazio which isn't a shabby place to be. I got to wear a sparkly outfit and that always makes me happy.

365 Day 46

We woke up to a beautiful Las Vegas day. The temp was a balmy 70 degrees which after being in Colorado for the last three months is like summer. We even sat by the pool today. Palm trees are the order for the day. We went to the new City Center which isfinallly open. OM Goodness...what a site. There are 8 towers. Aria being the big on in the back which is a hotel and casino and the others are hotels and condos. BEAUTIFUL and MASSIVE are the only way to describe these complexes. It is unbelieveable. Everything is decorated to the nth degree and breathtaking.

365 Day 45

We are on our way to Vegas, Baby! I love the airport. It's full of adventure and unlimited possibilities. You never know what your vacation is going to be like but you are so excited. We always play cards on the plane to brush up on our black Jack skills. Hopefully, Vegas dealers will be kinder to me than Jim the Dealer. A stinkin' 13....I hate 13's.

365 Day 43

Today I got stopped by the police for speeding in my little red truck. I guess my mind was on the trip to Vegas. As you can see, I got a warning....yup only a warning. Jim was outraged..."A warning, how can you get by with just a warning? Why...I would have been prosecuted to fullest and you got a warning!" He can be outraged this is the second time this has happened to me this year. As I bat my eyelashes, I remind him of the power of the big baby blues..... ;)

365 Day 44

Mr. B, Bradley James has discovered that his "Poppy" is the funniest guy on earth...well next to his own dad of course. We had the pleasure of keeping him this afternoon. What a treat.

365 Day 43

This weeks assignment is ACTION. Since I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow, I sent my action pictures I took from this summer. Jim, along with others, coaches a summer league baseball team. They were my favorite action shots all summer, that and we were with them 3-4 days out of the week. The end of the year party saw the guys running and jumping on a boogie board at our pool. They were all really good at it and it looks like they are surfing even for just a moment. I miss them all.

365 Day 42

Not to be out done by my grandson...I went to the doctor and got two shots of my own. I am sporting the bandaids until I get some real sympathy from Jim or they fall off in the shower which ever comes first.

365 Day 41

Still in Denver, This is at the door of my hotel room...perfect for Light/Shadow day at school tomarrow! Creepy.....you'd think I was at the Stanley Hotel in Estes and any second Jack would be coming down the hall with a big knife......yikes.

365 Day 40

Today I am at a conference in Denver for work. This is the view out my window. It is snowing and really cold but I don't mind.

365 Day 39

Today is Jim's Mom's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!
These pictures were taken in the fall and Papa J is looking for bugs in her hair. That's what you do for people you love and have been married to for 900 years!!!!

365 Day 38

More pictures for Light/Shadow.

365 Day 37

Today we attended the Greeley West High School Hall of Fame. We were honoring our friend, Bob Harr. Bob was a principal at Greeley West for a gazillion years after he was a teacher and student there. We were proud to be there to honor him.
Jim's Dad was also inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2009. Way to to Papa J.

365 Day 36

This weeks photo class pictures are "Light/Shadow". Snapped this of our flag at night.

365 Day 35

Although Jim has been feeling much better he has his moments when things aren't quite right. Sometimes his body just shuts him down when he is doing too much. This is in the middle of the afternoon when he couldn't get warm. I finally made him go to bed and sleep and I caught him an hour later, still with his hat on. Oh, look how happy he looks....What a gomer.

365 Day 32

Today Mr. B came over right after he got shots!!!! He got one in each leg and one on his foot! He was not a happy camper.

Bradley decided since he had such a bad day with shots, was going to teach himself how to suck his thumb. He jams the one hand up to his mouth and uses the other to keep it steady since he basically had no control of anything. Smart...very smart.

365 Day 31

I am trying to carry my camera where ever I go and today was I ever glad. The sun was going down and all of a sudden these clouds light up. Oh my gosh, I jumped out of my little red truck and started shooting. Fantastic. Don't you love the way the clouds are swirling?

365 Day 30

My attempt to capture the moon the other night. Not very good but an attempt. I went out to the Hertzke's house to stand on the hill and wait for the moon but I thought it was too cloudy and left too early. By the time I got home it was coming up and ran out to the field by Northridge and snapped a few pics. I just love the moon.

365 Day 29

Rough pictures for class.

We were working on Jordan's application to Aveda and she was using her different hair styles to show her interest in cosmotology. I couldn't resist adding it to the blog to let everyone see how cute and beautiful I think she is.

The one picture she is telling her Aunt Karla just how to cut her hair. Aunt Karla also is the french braider.......
I am so proud of Jordan.

365 Day 28

Jordan came home today to work on her admission paperwork and project for Aveda. It is a upscale cosmotology school on 16th street in Denver. It has been her dream to attend there for a really long time. We worked on pages for her presentation. Next step is acceptance. We put together many pages for her portfolo. This was the first page.

365 Day 27
